Has the Eurozone unemployment rate edged up to its highest point?

In every maze there is an out!

In the European Union, unemployment rates in the region that uses the euro currency are at their highest ever, as a returned recession, falling income levels and persistent debt concerns trouble the region’s economy, as its latest statistics show.

But the last few months the increase became more steady and maybe we will get to see a drop in the upcoming months and years.

The crises started nearly six years ago and now we are starting to see small improvements in different sectors. For instance in the trucking industry manufacturers like MAN and DAF have received extra orders. Thanks to the upcoming euro6 norm for trucks were the EU has regulated  that the polluting emissions have to be reduced in 2014. For these extra orders there are more employees needed. This means that the overall unemployment rate will decrease if the open positions are filled in. As the governments are trying to find way’s to improve the situation, what can recruiters do to help.

    Did somebody yell: ‘Opportunity’?

In the south European region the unemployment rates are the highest. This means that there a lot of qualified starters-professionals and seniors that are looking for employment. But while there is a high demand for qualified employees that have an specific background and a large number of job seekers, it still very hard to find a match.

The main reason for this problem is that we are looking in the wrong direction. In stead of just looking for possible candidates in our own country, we have to broaden our horizon.

    The solution is Europeanization.

Because of the EU-zone people can work and travel without visa within the EU. Let’s use the possibilities that the EU-regulators have given us.
