    While seeking for a new job, you definitely have an idea about what company you would like to end up in. Prioritizing is the main factor, which will create the perfect working environment for you. Some are striving for a high salary and a fair bonus system, others seek for a pleasant team and stable company structure. At the end of the day, based on your focus points you make your final decision whether to accept or decline an offer.

    Recruiters go through hundreds of CVs and dozens of interviews weekly. In order to stand out from the crowd you should really take into consideration some of the following tips how to impress any hiring manager.

    1. Know your experience and its value

    Question number one after the usual interview small talk would be ”Can you take us through your working experience?”. Sounds like an easy one, right? Surprisingly, many applicants do not manage to pull off the right answer.

    It is essential to follow the chronology and some structure. Explain each job from the oldest to the most recent one by mentioning what your responsibilities were and what personal quality helped you to fulfil them with excellence on a daily basis.

Recruiters expect that you have closely went through the job description and did your own verification if you are suitable, yes or no. You definitely need to point out several personal qualities or feedback from previous employers or colleagues  – an item of proof always adds credits to your profile. Mention your attentive listening skills, your good time-management, maybe even include your university team leader background to strengthen the impression you make.

    The above mentioned are basics that every recruiter seeks for and will surely bring you some bonus points in the overall score. 

      3. Display a strong character and ambition

    No employer would admit it directly, but employers tend to be sceptic about over sensitive applicants. Having a delicate and emotional employee is rather risky. The everyday working environment is often times full of stress and chaos, problem-solving and changing of plans. Hiring managers try to select candidates that will be resistant to the intensity of the job.

    So reveal the energetic and ambitious you. Showing that you have goals and future aspirations makes you stand as persistent and pro-active in the recruiter’s eyes. A healthy dose of enthusiasm is always favorable plus it creates a more on-going communication. Make sure you express some positive attitude towards the job position and the company itself –  it creates more trust and makes the employer feel special.

    However, specify that you have a good understanding of when optimism helps and when a rather deliberate approach is required.

     

    1. “Sell” yourself well

    It is a matter of a gift or experience. Even if you think that you are not good at pitching yourself, you will eventually improve drastically in that, do not worry! Despite the fact experience plays a crucial role here, take into account few tips for better selling yourself.

    Show the recruiters you can think independently and take responsibility for all tasks you will be accustomed. Having trust in the employees about the corporate responsibilities makes employers feel secure, so your effort will not stay unrecognized.
